Julianna Rankin releases “Double Knot” and sets out on tour with Mark Chesnutt and Easton

Julianna Rankin, described by MusicRow as "very promising" and praised as a strong new addition to the country scene, continues to gain ground with her latest single “Double Knot”. The song is produced by GRAMMY®-winning producers Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall, showcasing Rankin’s ability to combine classic country sounds with innovative, witty storytelling. The song was written by Oscar Charles, Bryan Simpson, and Meg McRee, offering a new take on the story of a dissolved marriage with sharp lyrics set to a warm, steel-guitar-driven honky tonk arrangement.

In “Double Knot,” Rankin mourns a relationship that has ended in a smart and playful way, suggesting that the knot at the altar maybe should have been secured with a double knot. Lines like “Baby when we tied the knot, we might’ve shoulda tied it in a double knot” are combined with a moody country backing and underscore her ability to blend emotional storytelling with her distinctive Texas charm. The new single follows her acclaimed tracks like “Dusty Boots,” highlighted by Holler as one of the most interesting new songs, the humorous “XYZ71s,” and “Little Miss Behavin',” whose music video featured Gretchen Wilson in the lead role.

Rankin made her record label debut with “Bad Habits and Good Horses,” a song that gained widespread attention when it was featured in the season finale of Paramount+ drama Landman. Her growing catalog reflects a deep respect for country tradition, while bringing her own personal touch and witty tone—a combination inspired by the likes of Keith Whitley, Bobbie Gentry, Waylon Jennings, Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, and James Taylor. This diversity of influences is clearly evident in Rankin’s songwriting and on stage.

Rankin’s influence is also growing beyond the studio. Earlier in 2026, she signed with Big Loud Texas Publishing and Sony Music Publishing, further strengthening her position as both artist and songwriter. Throughout the summer and fall, she expands her audience by opening for established country names, thereby building on her reputation as one of the genre's most exciting new artists.

The upcoming tour dates mean Rankin will be performing alongside prominent artists in Texas and Tennessee. In August she opens for Easton Corbin and Stoney LaRue, and in September she will perform at Everybody’s Somebody Festival together with Hayes Carll and The Band of Heathens, among others. Later in the fall, she will share the stage with Mark Chesnutt and Casey Donahew at selected shows.
